Lyme Disease

Lyme disease is a complex disease. It is caused by bacteria (Borrelia) and some co-infections (Babesia and Bartonella). It was originally thought to only be caused by a tick bite, but more recent information says that it can be transmitted by mosquitos, fleas and possibly sexually transmitted.

Lyme disease is called the great imitator because it imitates so many different diseases. The most common symptoms are: Fatigue, Migratory Joint Pain, Digestive Disorders, Brain Fog, Anxiety and Depression and Skin Issues.

Once the Lyme disease goes chronic, it can mimic other diseases such as: Alzheimer’s, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Fibromyalgia and many other ailments.

No one has all the symptoms of Lyme disease, but some of the many other symptoms are:

Joint Pains
Headaches
Muscle Pain
Anxiety
Joint Swelling
Bell’s Palsy
Confusion
Unexplained Back Pain
Brain Fog

 Difficult Concentration
ADD
Depression
 Mood Swings
Poor Short Term Memory
Tremors
Panic Attacks
Seizures
Buzzing in Ears
Vertigo
Flu Like Symptoms
Skin Rashes
Loss of Libido
Fatigue (Common)
Chronic Cough
Heart Murmurs

Lab tests are unreliable in chronic Lyme disease. There can be anywhere from 50% to 81% false negative blood tests (you have the disease but it does not show up on the blood test).

We use a MEAD (meridian energy analysis device) to check acupuncture points on the hands and feet.

Chronic Lyme disease has a pattern that shows up on the MEAD exam. We also use a Reflex E System exam. This technology is based on Electro Acupuncture according to Voll. This diagnostic system was created in Germany in the 1960’s to determine what homeopathic medicines, herbs and supplements best fit the patient’s needs.

Treatment is with homeopathic medicines and Chinese herbs. It can take as little as 4 months or as long as 12 months to treat Lyme. The average treatment time is 7 months. Treatment is complete when all readings on the exams are normal.
