We may use traditional needles (which are very thin and virtually painless) or electrical point stimulation (which entails the use of a small probe and a very mild electrical current that is barely felt, if felt at all). The electrical point stimulator is used on children, auriculotherapy (ear acupuncture) and those patients who may be needle phobic.

For your initial appointment please allow 45 minutes to an hour for this appointment and do not eat or drink anything at least one hour before your appointment.
We use a MEAD (Meridian Energy Analysis Device) to measure the meridians and see if they are in excess or deficient. This information allows us to determine which points to treat along the meridian. The MEAD can be affected by certain medications. We ask that if you take medications that you make your appointment earlier in the day, bring your medications with you and take your medications after we have finished the exam. This is especially true if we are evaluating you for Lyme disease, Candida (yeast) or any other chronic infection.
